LITTLE Lever residents have been left scratching their warm heads after a mystery ‘guerilla knitter’ deposited some free headwear about town for anyone feeling the cold.
A selection of woolly hats has appeared outside the parade of shops in Market Street, with a note on each encouraging chilly residents to help themselves.
27-year-old Rachael Seddon was walking to the nearby doctors with her 15-month old son, Otis, when she saw the winter wear hung on a mesh tree trunk protector outside the former Kwik Save unit.
“The sight of them really made my morning. How thoughtful of someone to make them for others to keep warm,” said Rachael, of Duxbury Avenue, Little Lever.
“I’ve no idea who put them there, but they had a tag on saying 'cold head, take a free hat'. Someone said they saw a woman putting them out this morning.
“I spotted them at 10am and I took the purple hat, as my ears were cold.
“I just want to know who made them so I can thank them. It really made my morning.”
Do you know who the Little Lever guerilla knitter is?
