TILLY the terrier rarely attempts the doggy paddle – unless there’s a duck to be chasing.

The loveable Yorkie lives with 34-year-old Alison Gallagher, who’s currently on maternity leave from her role at the Post Office HR service centre in Bolton.

She and husband, Gavin, had been together two years when they decided to get a new member of their Bromley Cross household.

“We had been talking about getting a dog for a while,” said Alison.

“We only went to have a look but we came home with a puppy.

“I had a Yorkshire Terrier as a child so I knew the breed. Gavin has an allergy to pet fur, but as Tilly doesn't malt, a Yorkie was the perfect dog for us.”

Tilly has a good temperament but does like to bark at the postman. And don’t get her stated on wildfowl.

“Tilly hates swimming but she will 'dip her toe' in if she sees a duck, but then runs straight out again,” added Alison.

“She is good with our three children and she has put up with a lot from them.

“She loves a good run on the beach and playing with a ball.”
