A FATHER who struggled to pay off debts was found hanged at his business in Breightmet, an inquest heard.

Sean Ridsdale, aged 33, was discovered in the office at his car dealership in Redbridge Industrial Estate on July 24, with a note referring to his business being unsuccessful and being unable to cope.

Bolton Coroner’s Court heard that Mr Ridsdale, who was described as a wonderful father who would do anything for his family, had owed “a lot of money to a lot of people”.

Assistant coroner Rachael Griffin heard how Mr Ridsdale sent text messages to friends talking about his struggles in both his personal and working life although generally he showed no signs of depression.

Ms Griffin said: “It’s clear he was very hardworking and very dedicated to his family. He was a young man who would do anything for anyone and anything to provide for his family. Leading up to his death there had been difficulties both personal and in his working life.”

She recorded a verdict of suicide and added: “His wife said that she did not believe the note left by him makes sense, I understand his death will have come as a great shock. I cannot deny he wrote a letter which from the officer’s statement it would appear he was struggling to cope.”
