DETECTIVES want to trace a victim who had his head stamped on after being punched to the ground.

It was the second attack in the early hours of Sunday in Bolton town centre by the same person.

The man attacked a 44-year-old man in Bradshawgate at 3.20am and punched him to the ground.

The attacker then stamped on the victim’s head and he lost consciousness.

The victim was taken to hospital with facial injuries. He is now recovering at home. 

Officers discovered another victim had been approached around the same time by the same man.

The second victim was punched to his head and body before being knocked to the ground and the attacker also stamped on his head. 

Detective Constable Christopher Hickey said: “It is extremely important that we find the second victim and make sure that he is OK. If you have any information that would help us, please get in touch. 

“If you are the victim we are trying to trace, please seek medical attention and get in touch with police.”

Lesroy Lewis, aged 29, previously of Moorside Road, Swinton, and now of Haverfield Road, Blackley, has been charged with two counts of attempting to wound with intent to do grievous bodily harm.

He appeared at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates’ Court on Monday and was remanded into custody and is due to appear at Bolton Crown Court on Monday, December 19.
