A BODY, found on Lostock train line, has been identified as a 35-year-old man.
British Transport Police were called to Lostock train station on Monday.
Emergency services attended the scene at around 12.20pm and reported that there was a body on the line.
A spokesman for British Transport Police said: “We attended a stretch of line near Lostock station following a report of a body on the line.
“Colleagues from Network Rail and the North West Ambulance Service also attended but sadly a 35-year-old man from the local area was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The man’s family has been informed.”
“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
It is believed the man has links to Edgworth.
