A BROTHER and sister have been crowned winners of The Bolton News Design a Card competition.
Muhammad Hamza Fozdar, aged 10 and Aiysha Fozdar, aged five, were chosen out of hundreds of entries after receiving the most public votes.
The St Thomas C.E pupils won a family ticket to The Light Cinema, chocolate Santa’s from Slattery and will have their cards printed by Impression Bolton Ltd, which they can post out to their friends and family.
Dozens of schools took part in the festive competition, which was launched in October and 104 designs were shortlisted for the public vote, which was by phone, text or by coupon.
Hundreds of designs of all things Christmas were submitted including snowmen and Christmas trees to stockings and Santas.
But there could only be two winners, one for the age four to seven age group and one for the age eight to 11 group.
Father Nazir Fozdar said: “I am very proud of them.
“They were very pleased and excited to hear that they had won.
“They told their teachers who were very pleased that they had won it too.
“They do quite a bit of drawing at home and are good drawers.
“They are going to send the cards out to family for Christmas.”
