A KNIFE-wielding thug who carried out a brutal attack in Bolton has had his jail term cut by senior judges.

Corey Adam Scott, 25, of St Helens Road, Over Hulton, was jailed for nine years and nine months at the town’s Crown Court on May 25.

He admitted two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and one of having an article with a bladed point.

Scott and his co-accused had ‘unresolved issues’ with the two victims, Cheryl Foster and Wesley Boardman, Judge Anne Molyneux told London’s Appeal Court.

After ‘aggressive exchanges’ on social media, they went to the pair’s home in Bolton last November. Scott ‘rushed into the house with a knife in hand’.

Both victims were injured, with knife wounds inflicted by Scott.

The harm caused was ‘very serious’, said the appeal judge. Ms Foster was left devastated, gave up work, suffered anxiety and depression and had to move home.

But Mark Ford, for Scott, argued his jail term was too tough as he did not get enough credit for his guilty pleas.

Judge Molyneux, sitting with Lord Justice Treacy and Mr Justice Singh, agreed and his jail term was reduced to eight years and eight months.
