A PARKGOER was allegedly “stabbed and bottled” close to Bolton town centre, according to a passer-by.

Police are now appealing for information about the attack in broad daylight after confirming they are investigating the incident that happened a fortnight ago.

Shortly after 4.40pm on Sunday November 20 officers were called to the Chorley New Road entrance of Queens Park to reports of an assault.

A 32-year-old man had been set upon by mystery attackers between 4pm and 4.20pm that day and he was taken to hospital with injuries to his head and hand.

One teenage bystander who intervened and assisted the victim later wrote on Facebook: “Good deed done for the day.

“Just helped a guy on Queens Park who’s been stabbed and bottled, blood everywhere,

“Bolton is actually disgusting.”

A spokeswoman for North West Ambulance Service confirmed an ambulance and a rapid response vehicle were dispatched at 4.30pm to the scene.

Paramedics took the male patient, who was bleeding from his head and had suffered a head injury, was taken to Royal Bolton Hospital.
