A CHARITY movement is determined to make sure that every child in Bolton has a stable, loving home.

The Bolton branch of national charity Home for Good was set up three years ago, but has now partnered with Urban Outreach in a bid to expand its influence.

The charity supports churches who are encouraging people in the community to get involved with fostering and adoption.

Lynn Attwood, who set up the Bolton branch Home for Good movement at St Peter’s Church in Halliwell, said: “Home for Good is a charity that started three years ago to find homes for children that needs one.

“What we now want to do is build up our support network for fostering and adoption in Bolton.

“For the last three years I have run the Home for Good support group at St Peter’s and we want to build on that.

“With the support of Urban Outreach I am very hopeful that we will be able to do that. They have the established network and the experience of working with Bolton Council and other organisations that can help us to grow.”

A launch event for the new partnership was held at the Triangle Church in Doffcocker.

Among the guests were Dave Bagley, founder of Urban Outreach, Home for Good founder and director Krish Kandiah, and Jen Yates, head of regional development with the charity.

She added: “The launch event last week was a real success. We had about 60 people come to hear what we had to say.

“We also had three new families sign up to be foster families and that was really good.

“In January we will be running another support group and in March we will be doing training for youth workers and Sunday school workers looking at some of the problems that are presented by fostering.

“We always put children back into Bolton because the aim is to enrich the community, and that is what Urban Outreach is all about as well.”
