CYCLIST Jason Kenny put Bolton firmly on the map in August after securing his fifth gold medal in the Olympics.

The Farnworth sportsman added two golds to his portfolio, having already won three golds and a silver in previous competitions.

The 28-year-old who already has an MBE and and OBE was also tipped to be given a knighthood to become Sir Jason Kenny.

And it was a double celebration for the champion after his fiancé Laura Trott also won her fourth gold medal in the Omnium - making the pair the ‘golden couple’.
