SCORES of people are expected to turn out for a crunch meeting tonight in which the council’s controversial £300,000 grant to Asons will be discussed.
The meeting of the council’s corporate scrutiny committee will be taking place at the pavilion building in Queens Park from 5.30pm.
Opposition councillors will be lining up to fire questions at council chiefs over the process and decision making behind the grant award, which has dominated the news agenda in Bolton for months.
Members of the public are entitled to attend the meeting but will not be allowed to ask questions.
Other topics set to be discussed at the meeting include the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework and the redevelopment of Bolton Town Hall.
