Bradshaw Cricket Club in Bolton is facing a “constant battle” after vandals struck again on Monday night.

According to club chairman Steven Dickinson, a number of teenagers had caused damage to the building on Rigby Lane off Bolton Road.

The CCTV camera had been damaged, the benches had been moved around to the front of the club and Mr Dickinson said there was evidence of drug use.

This is the latest in a number of incidents at the beloved cricket club, which recently had roller shutter doors installed to prevent break-ins and further damage.

Steven Dickinson, chairman at Bradshaw Cricket Club, said on Tuesday: “We had some youths around 14 and 15-years-old who have been hanging around the front of the club and causing damage.

“I haven’t been down to the club but we have had people down there looking at certain things so I don’t know the full details but we have got some CCTV footage of what they have been doing.

“They haven’t broken in but they have tried to rip the CCTV camera off the wall, the benches have been moved around to the front of the club and there is evidence of drug use.

“It’s becoming more and more regular. It’s a constant battle at the moment. So we have handed our CCTV footage over to the police and hopefully we can do something about.”

Anyone with information on the incident should call the police on 101.
