Theft

A WOMAN stole cigarettes worth almost £2,000 from a Bolton cash and carry, a court heard.

At Bolton Magistrates’ Court Angela Williams, aged 49, of St John’s Road, Worsley, pleaded guilty to taking the goods from Booker’s on on two occasions on April 1 and 5 last year.

She was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison, suspended for 24 months and ordered to pay a total of £2,058.52 in compensation and costs.

Ticket

A TRAIN passenger who travelled without a valid ticket has been told he must pay a total of £247.10 in fines, costs and compensation.

At Bolton Magistrates’ Court Aadam Ahmed, aged 20, of The Woodlands, Lostock, pleaded guilty to committing the offence on May 26 when travelling from Lostock without a ticket.

He was fined £65 and must pay £180 in costs and charges plus compensation of £2.10 to the train company.

Ban

MAGISTRATES have sentenced a man to a conditional discharge for six months after he admitted breaching a restraining order banning him from going to an address in Bolton.

Mohamed Harbaoui, aged 38, of Tivoli Garage, Derby Street, Bolton, pleaded guilty to ignoring the court order on January 12.

In addition to the conditional discharge, Bolton magistrates ordered him to pay £85 towards prosecution costs plus a £20 victim surcharge.

Breach

MAGISTRATES have ordered a man to have treatment for drug addiction after finding him guilty to breaching a restraining order.

Nicholas Doherty, aged 35, of Eldon Street, Bolton, contacted a woman on October 28 last year when he was banned from doing so.

Following a trial he was found guilty and justices at Bolton Magistrates’ Court sentenced him to a community order for six months.

He must also participate in 15 days of rehabilitation activities and pay £310 in fines, compensation and costs.

Fine

DRIVING without a licence, insurance or an MOT has landed a woman with a fine of more than £700.

Kaysher Farryman, of Leyburn Grove, Farnworth, was convicted of the three offences at Salford Magistrates’ Court in her absence The 29-year-old drove a 2001-reg BMW X5 in Presto Street, Farnworth, on November 8, without the correct documentation or certificates.

She was fined a total of £770 and was given six penalty points on her licence.

Farryman must also pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £66.

Driving

MAGISTRATES fined a man after convicting him of motoring offences.

Josef Lakatos was found guilty in his absence of driving a 2003-reg Mercedes C180 in St Georges Road, Bolton, on October 28 without either a licence or insurance.

The 46-year-old, of Hennon Street, Halliwell, was fined £660 by Salford Magistrates' Court and ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £66.

He received six penalty points on his licence.

Motoring

A MOTORIST has been fined for driving without a licence or insurance.

Piotr Kuchcinski, of St James Street, Farnworth, was caught behind the wheel of a 2014-reg Citroen Picasso in the same road on October 31 last year.

The 48-year-old was fined £120 by Salford Magistrates’ Court after admitting the offences.

He must may a victim surcharge of £30 and court costs of £85.
