A PHOTOGRAPHY student will be taking centre stage with his exhibition capturing Brits on the Beach, launching tomorrow at Bolton Little Theatre.

Ian Smith, a second year student at the University of Bolton, said: “The theme I selected was a fundraising day held at Cemaes Bay in Anglesey on the August bank holiday in aid of the lifeboat. The exhibition is a documentary body of work which reflects the fun, frolics and the happy atmosphere on that one afternoon. The day was excellent in terms of weather, the support from people, the variety of games and the fun had.”

The exhibition will run for one week, from 6:30pm to 7:30pm, in aid of the Charles Henry Ashley historic lifeboat. There will be a speech by the Chairman of the Charles Henry Ashley historic lifeboat, Piers Breeland.

Mr Smith said: “I have always had a passion for photography. Even as a working Dad of two, I managed to keep my finger on the button by taking pictures on family holidays, the local landscapes. For 2017 I am planning, along with my son Mark, a photographic expedition to the Western Isles of Scotland, to retrace a journey made by photographer Paul Strand in the 1940’s.” To attend the event visit /www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/brits-on-the-beach-a-photographic-exhibition-tickets-29623879822
