THE written word is proving just as rewarding as the cycling track for Jason and Laura Kenny.

Laura Trott and Jason Kenny: The Inside Track has been nominated in the 2017 Cross Sports Book Awards.

Written by the pair, the book is one of 12 nominees for Best Sports Autobiography of the Year.

The book retraces their steps success at the Rio Olympics, which saw them top up their gold medal count to 12 between them.

Laura has spoken of her joy at the book nomination.

She said: "It’s an honour to be included in the list for the 2017 Cross Sports Book Awards.

"Both Jason and I feel privileged to be nominated alongside some sporting greats!"

Other nominees are fellow Olympians Greg Rutherford and Jo Pavey, Tour de France rider Chris Boardman, Leicester City’s Premier League champion Jamie Vardy, former England striker and TV pundit Ian Wright, World Cup Final referee Howard Webb, England footballer Joey Barton, former Formula One World Champion Damon Hill and pundit Johnny Herbert.

The winner of the Autobiography of the year will be announced at the 15th Cross Sports Book Awards Ceremony, which takes place at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London on May 24.
