BOLTON Wanderers players surprised guests at the club’s annual lifeline lottery party.

The event was held in the Premier Suite at the Macron Stadium, with more than 900 loyal supporters turning out to dance the night away.

Since the 1970’s Bolton Wanderers has run weekly lotteries which have provided a vital source of funding for the club.

There is a Lifeline, Goldline and Golden Gamble. All money raised by the lottery, once prizes and expenses have been paid, is used to develop and upgrade facilities at the Macron Stadium, the Euxton Training Complex and the Bolton Wanderers Eddie Davies Football Academy.

Manager Phil Parkinson and players Darren Pratley, Gary Madine, Lawrie Wilson, Conor Wilkinson and Bolton Wanderers legend Tony Kelly attended the evening to show their appreciation of the support the lottery has given the club.

One example of the money used is the installation of floodlights at the Lostock training ground, at a cost of £125,000— allowing training to continue in the winter.

During the evening the players assisted in a free draw and made ten lucky Lifeline members extremely happy by pulling out their ticket which rewarded them with £100, before posing for photos and signing autographs for the next hour of the evening.

There was also a raffle drawn by legends Tony Kelly and John Thomas followed by entertainment from Soul City Sounds and resident DJ Kev.

The lottery is ran by Bolton Wanderers Development Association (Chorley) Ltd.

The Lifeline is £2 per week and gives members the opportunity to win £2000 weekly or one of the 10 £50 consolation prizes.

The draw also gives members the chance to win up to £7500 on a rollover draw which currently stands at £6300 but this is just one of the four revenue streams the lotteries have within the

Alongside the Lifeline there is also Goldline, which is £1 per week giving players the chance to win £500 Monday to Friday, plus many consolation prizes of £10, accompanied by the Goldline Extra Draw with a maximum jackpot of £5000 which currently stands at £4000.

There is also a match day Golden Gamble draw with a top cash prize of up to £1000 plus other prizes which change match by match.

Bolton Wanderers Development Association can also assist in running lotteries to fund raise for local clubs or charities and has raised in excess of £170,000 for Derian House Children’s Hospice.
