CCTV footage captures the moment a car crashed into a parked vehicle in the early hours of Sunday.

A Landrover is caught driving down Bleinheim Road, Breightmet at around 3.20am before it smashes into a parked Vauxhall Astra.

There were reports that the Landrover, thought to be gold or silver, stopped briefly before driving off from the scene.

A neighbour’s CCTV camera caught the moment of impact which caused substantial damage to the parked vehicle.

The neighbour, who asked not be identified, said: “This is the second time in two years my neighbour’s car has been written off on this road.

“The two occupants in the care swapped seats before driving off.”

Residents have called for improved parking on the street as the narrow road means car side mirrors are clipped.

The neighbour said: “It is a narrow road which is used as a cut through.

“Resident do not have anywhere else to park and it does get congested, but we have been told we are not allowed y drive ways to be put in

Police confirmed they received reports of a fail to stop incident in Blenheim Road.

The neighbour added: “The Landrover was found burnt out in Breightmet Golf Club, I saw it after taking the children to school.”

A police spokesman said they were contacted at 3.25am after a collision involving a Landrover and Vauxhall Astra.

He added: “We received reports of a fail to stop. There were not reports of injuries.
