A FIGHT in Astley Bridge ended with police arresting two men.

Officers were called to Astley Bridge Conservative Club where a brawl had broken out, on Sunday night.

Police arrived at the club in Moss Bank Way at about 7pm and reported that both men and women were involved in the incident.

Two men were arrested on the scene, a 20-year-old for a public order offence and a 38-year-old for breach of the peace.

The 20-year-old received a caution and the 38-year-old was removed from the scene and was later released without a charge.

Witnesses reported that one police van, 10 police cars and around 15 police officers were on the scene.

It is believed the fight broke out in the club carpark and approximately 20 people were involved.

Police were unable to confirm this but said no weapons or bottles were used in the incident and none of the fighting spread to the street.
