BOLTON television stars hit the red carpet on Wednesday night to celebrate the National Television Awards 2017.

The glitzy night celebrates the best of what’s on the box and saw some of the town’s big names taking to the stage.

Bolton Brainiac Jenny Ryan was among those celebrating after The Chase was crowned best daytime show.

Viewers voted for the ITV show over Pointless, Come Dine With Me and The Jeremy Kyle Show.

Jenny, who grew up in Horwich and is known by her Chaser name of ‘The Vixen’, donned a satin blue gown, sparkly heels and trade-mark glasses for the occasion.

She joined her fellow Chasers Anne ‘The Governess’ Hegerty - who she regularly quizzes with in Bolton - Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett, Paul ‘The Sinnerman’ Sinha and host Bradley Walsh on stage.

Bradley dedicated the win to a member of the team who had died last year.

He said: “Thank you very much, it’s an absolute honour, the show goes from strength to strength.”

The television presenter also joked about sharing the same stage as funnyman Sir Ken Dodd, quipping that he first worked with him during the Royal Variety Performance, adding: “Queen Victoria loved every second of it.”

Both Jenny and Anne regularly play for The Albert team in Horwich on Monday nights in the Bolton Premier Quiz League.

And Jenny took to her Twitter to celebrate the occasion, sharing pictures from inside the London’s O2 arena and thanking the public for their support.

She tweeted: “Thanks a million to everyone who voted for #TheChase at the #NTAS - we are all overwhelmed by the love for the show!”

Also celebrating the night was funny man Paddy McGuinness.

He teamed up with Keith Lemon to recreate the iconic Dirty Dancing pose on the red carpet.

The duo are currently filming The Keith and Paddy Picture Show

Keith revealed earlier that he would be attending in a dress as he did not have time to change clothes due to a travel disaster.
