A WORLD famous superclub is bringing its touring nostalgia night to a Bolton venue.

Ministry of Sound has selected the Bleachworks Event Bar in Dunscar to host a party on Saturday February 11.

Club classics will be spun at the event at Dunscar Business Park in Blackburn Road to celebrate the legendary London club’s 25th year.

Louise Lawrence, manager of the bar, said: “It’s celebrating 25 years of Ministry of Sound and they actually contacted us to see if we would be part of their tour.

“We’re a small venue – our capacity is 220 – and they’re moving more towards intimate venues.

“Their DJs are used to playing to crowds of up to 1,000 so it’s a more intimate. This is pretty exciting for the local area.”

One of Ministry of Sound’s resident DJs Tim Cullen is travelling up to headline the night and Mrs Lawrence has arranged for The Bleachworks’ own resident DJ Mick Davies and two other popular Blackburn-based spinners Dale Jones and Claudio Bellusci to provide support. Revellers will be able to throw shapes to the tunes and lasers from 9pm until 4am.

Mrs Lawrence said: “It’s going to be a mixture of music and it’s going to be a feel-good event. It’s classic house going from 1991 to the present day — a night of anthems.

“The DJs don’t have set slots so Mick will be doing the warm-up and the other three will mix it up through the night, going back-to-back and freestyling.

“People are very excited. It’s bringing Ministry of Sound to people who can’t get to experience it normally.”

The big name night is part of the new strategy Mrs Lawrence, who only took on the role this week, is implementing. She said: “We are an events venue so we hire it out for weddings and birthdays but we’re going to do these ‘big ticket’ events through the year more often.

“This is the direction I want to take the business in.”

The Bleachworks was opened as a members-only bar and a brewery in 2011 from a converted bleachworks. Tickets are £17 and can be bought via skiddle.com/e/12896633
