MUSIC, dance and theatre from across the continent is brightening up a winter night in Bolton this month.

Following the success of last year, the Bolton Hindu Forum (BHF) and Octagon Theatre have reunited to present a showcase of unique performances for Manoranjan 2017.

The event on February 18 will see talented performers from around the Hindu community take to the theatre stage to celebrate and share their cultural heritage.

Last year the organisers celebrated a sell out event.

BHF project development officer Paras Agravat said: "It went brilliantly last year.

"It is much bigger this year, we've got more acts and even though the forum is a community group we try to get professional and high quality acts of the level you would expect to see at the Octagon.

"It is fully in collaboration with the theatre and we have developed a really good relationship with them and partnership."

Manoranjan has developed a huge community following, with people taking part aged from just four-years-old to 60 plus.

The evening will see groups showing off the mixture of dance styles from around India, as well as the Bollywood style made famous around the world.

On top of that. there will musicians and theatrical performances.

Mr Agravat added: "It will share the wide variety of Indian performances which we have.

"For example dances in the south of India are very different from dances in North India.

"The event is for anyone of any age and is a great opportunity for anyone with talent in the Indian community to show off in Bolton';s biggest theatre and show the wider community to see what they can do.

"We are really, really looking forward to it."

Tickets are on sale now for Manoranjan 2017 at £5, which runs from 6.30pm to 9pm.
