WANDERERS (3-5-2)

BEN ALNWICK…5

Recovered from a nightmarish start but leaving aside his mistakes for the two Bradford goals – which could potentially be pinned on a poor surface or indifferent defending – he got caught under too many crosses early on.

DERIK OSEDE…6

Not quite as comfortable has he has looked in the last few games. His distribution from the back was nowhere near as effective.

DAVID WHEATER…9

Simply brilliant in the last hour of the game. Wanderers needed someone to stand up and lead by example – and the big centre half signalled the fightback with his fifth goal of the campaign.

MARK BEEVERS…6.5

Defended much better in the second half after getting too close to his marker on a couple of occasions in the first half.

FILIPE MORAIS…6.5

Worked hard on both wings against his former club and produced some good crosses. He did have to do a lot of chasing against the rampaging Bradford full-backs, though.

JOSH VELA…7

Not really at the races for the first half and hour but after that he took the game by the scruff of the neck and ensured the midfield missed Jay Spearing’s presence a lot, lot less.

TOM THORPE…6

Like Vela, had fans grumbling early on as the game passed him by. Credit to the on-loan midfielder for gradually gaining control in the middle of the park.

LIAM TROTTER…4

Didn’t get a grasp of the game, even after Bradford had slowed down. His manager had asked for fan-backing, which he got, but deserves a better performance than this.

DEAN MOXEY…5

Parkinson had asked for supporters to ‘give him a chance’ and he might equally have levelled that request at Bradford, who swamped down his wing in the early stages. Seemed caught between two roles as wing-back and regular left-back.

ADAM LE FONDRE…6.5

Showed some glimpses of class on the ball in the early stages and looks to be returning to full fitness. Need him closer to goal, though.

GARY MADINE…8

Scored one and should have had at least one more. Works well with Le Fondre and deserves a massive pat on the back for helping drag his team back into the game.

Subs: Henry 60 (for Moxey) – Produced a sumptuous cross for Madine’s goal. Put a big claim in to start against Sheffield United. 8

Solomon-Otabor 60 (for Trotter) – Looked strong and full of running. The Birmingham City youngster’s best outing yet. 7

Wilkinson 88 (for Le Fondre) – Picked up a late yellow card but worked hard in the dying stages. 6

Not used: Howard, Dervite, Clayton, Perry.

MATCH MARKS Bradford City (4-4-2): Doyle; McMahon, McArdle, Knight-Percival, Meredith; Marshall, Vincelot, Cullen, Law; Wyke, B Clarke.

Subs: Dieng 67 (for Clarke), Gillead 78 (for Law), Hiwula 82 (for Marshall)

Not used: Sattelmaier, Darby, Toner, Devine.
