POLICE have confirmed they are investigating an attempted burglary at a local sports club.
The incident at Eagley Sports Complex occurred on Monday, February 13 when a man attempted to break in through the back door.
A spokesman from Greater Manchester Police confirmed that enquiries have been undertaken but no arrest has been made.
The incident was one of three that have taken place at the club in Blackburn Road over the last few weeks.
During one incident on Saturday, February 11, a man was caught on CCTV gaining access to the premises and then to the cellar behind the bar.
It then showed him carrying out a safe, which was full of money raised for a defibrillator.
Simon Ainsworth, steward of Eagley Sports Complex, said: βItβs just very annoying and very disheartening for the volunteers. There are all these clubs in the area that are run by a lot of volunteers putting a lot of time and effort in.β
