MATTRESSES, clothes, and a fridge-freezer were dumped at a park in Deane.
Dismayed residents came across this scene at the green space between Edward Street and Quebec Street last week.
Thomas Gregory, of nearby Runnymede Court, said: “I noticed that there was rubbish dumped around the area of the park that I walk through, but I didn’t realise how bad it was further down.
“It is a regular spot for fly-tippers, they have been targeting it for a long while.
“There were about five mattresses, a bed base, a suitcase with the clothes spread out over the grass, and a fridge-freezer.
“People need to see these pictures and understand how big a problem it is.”
The 70-year-old added that the areas between Derby Street and Deane Road had become “a tip”. He said: “Nearly every time I go out I see something new that has been dumped.

“I have lived in Bolton all my life and it has never been so bad, I don’t know what has happened to the place.” A council spokesman said: “There is simply no excuse for this. We have removed the fly-tipping and we will be doing everything we can to track down the offenders.
“Fly-tipping is inconsiderate, antisocial and following a recent change in the law, we are also planning to introduce much higher fixed penalty notices of up to £400 for a fly-tipping offence, as well as continuing to take offenders to court for prosecution. If you see anyone fly-tipping or see any sites which has fly-tipped waste on it, please contact us.”
The spokesman added: “We will investigate and we will do everything we can to identify the culprits.”
