HER journey on the hit talent show The Voice may have come to an end, but Linda Jennings’ dreams of becoming a famous singer are still very much alive.

Linda was a huge hit when she first appeared on the ITV show, winning over the viewers along with three of the judges, Tom Jones, Gavin Rossdale and will.i.am.

But unfortunately she failed to make it through the next round on Saturday as she came up against duo Into The Ark.

Speaking about her first appearance, the 49-year-old former Rivington and Blackrod High School pupil said: “When will.i.am turned around first just before Gavin, I was just thinking ‘oh my God’.

“When Tom Jones turned around I was totally freaking out. I just wanted to leap up and down, but had to stay calm and collected.”

But Linda added: “On Saturday, the rehearsals of the song we were singing did not go too well. The key was not right, so when we all got on stage we were scared — for the others and ourselves.

“I wanted to do it again and show how versatile my voice can be. When the song, More than Words, by Extreme, was chosen I knew it. But the key was not right.

“When I got on stage my heart was beating a 100 miles per hours, I was so nervous.

“My friend who was in the audience was crying, she was really upset for me.

“I was a little upset and wanted another go!”

But the full time singer, who now lives in Stockport, is not giving up on her dreams.

She said: “I would like to perform at Glastonbury with everyone singing along to one of my songs— and I would like to become a television presenter, I am wacky enough.”

Linda gave Tom Jones a CD of three of her songs, which she says will be perfect for him to sing.

As well as taking away technical tips to further her voice, one of the biggest highlights was being in Abbey Road Studios, where the huge Beatles fan had a once in a life time opportunity to play a piano which belonged to them.
