A THUG who attacked a car with a baseball bat has been sentenced to do 50 hours unpaid work.
Bolton magistrates heard how Ali Afghan climbed out of the passenger seat of a Audi A4 in Folds Road, Bolton, on December 30 and smashed the bonnet of an Audi A3 behind him with a bat.
The driver of the A4 then reversed into the vehicle.
Jiro Asafa, prosecuting, said that 22-year-old Afghan climbed back into the A4 and drove off towards Bank Street.
The driver of the A3, Khizer Shariq and his female passenger were unharmed.
Afghan, of Salisbury Street, Bolton, who was given a suspended prison sentence for drugs offences last month, pleaded guilty to causing criminal damage and threatening behaviour
Kevin Liston, defending, said the two men were know to each other and Afghan had previously been annoyed by friends of Mr Shariq revving car engines in his street.
“This was a chance encounter,” aid Mr Liston.
“He accepts his frustration boiled over and he leapt out of the car.”
