DINERS are invited to pay what they think at a special pop-up restaurant opening this weekend.

Eat PENNINES will be dishing up tasty delights at The Barlow in Edgworth tonight and through to Sunday.

There will be two menus, one for tonight and tomorrow and one for Sunday.

Dishes include Lancashire Hotpot, Portobello mushroom Wellington as well as sticky, steamed sponge pudding.

Sunday’s menu includes roasted chicken and all the Sunday trimmings.

There will also be a separate menu for children over 10 and one for younger children.

In a twist, diners will be invited to pay what they think the meal is worth.

Eat PENNINES is a youth training scheme helping 15 unemployed young people from Bolton into training and employment.

They all have an interest in food – some are chefs, others horticulturalists and some like to work in the leisure industry.

They undertake a practical training programme before running their own pop-up restaurant, under the watchful eye of the EAT Pennines management team

It is a sister social enterprise to the award winning Eagle and Child in Ramsbottom. The restaurant will be open from 5.45pm to 10.30pm on all three nights with different sittings.

A spokesman for Eat PENNINES said: “The young people are extremely excited about the pop-up restaurant, it is a progression for them through life. This is the culmination of 14 weeks training and diners can expect good quality food, nice service and a nice atmosphere.”

The first sitting will be at 6pm and diners will be asked to kindly vacate their tables after two hours. For more information email carole@thebarlow.co.uk and to book ring 01204 852216 or email info@thebarlow.co.uk
