WANDERERS (3-5-2)

BEN ALNWICK…7 Had to play safe against Matt Taylor’s consistently-brilliant delivery by punching in wet conditions but did so with conviction.

DORIAN DERVITE…7 Gave away a few cheap free kicks early in the second half, one of which led to the Northampton goal, but was otherwise very solid.

DAVID WHEATER…7 Missed a great chance to claim his eighth goal of the season in the first half but defensively, as sound as ever, if not stretched to the limit.

MARK BEEVERS…7 Back on song when it really counts. Never really troubled by the Cobblers’ attack and looks comfortable in this system.

FILIPE MORAIS…7.5 Tracked up and down with diligence, even though things were not going quite as smoothly as they did against Fleetwood and Gillingham. Then came the goal. Well deserved.

JOSH VELA…7 Gave his customary truckload of graft in midfield and linked up with the front line well in the latter stages. Had to dig in and do the unglamorous stuff.

DERIK OSEDE…7 Saw plenty of the ball but had to keep one eye on the dangerous Jon-Joe O’Toole. Looks more confident in the holding midfield role these days.

DARREN PRATLEY…8.5 Won’t get headlines, and doesn’t seek them. But yet another lung-bursting effort in midfield when he should really be feeling his way back into the team.

ANDY TAYLOR…7.5 Never panics on the ball, gets up and down with little fuss. Great cross for the winner. Another one of Wanderers’ unsung heroes.

ADAM LE FONDRE…8 Just about broke the net with the penalty and could have had a couple more, in truth. Fans love him, he loves the fans. Works hard for that level of respect.

GARY MADINE…8 Almost unplayable in the last half hour of the game. Starting to get some of the recognition he deserves for the graft he has put in this season.
