A MURDER trial jury is expected to retire to consider its verdict today.
Yesterday at Bolton Crown Court the jury heard closing speeches by the prosecution and defence counsel for 39-year-old Tomasz Bubrowski and the Honorary Recorder of Bolton, Judge Timothy Clayson summed up the case.
During a two week trial the court has heard how 39-year-old Polish born Sebastian Zuchlinski was ambushed in Davenport Street, Bolton by a gang who stabbed him to death on the evening of February 6 last year.
The prosecution allege that Bubrowksi, of Cavendish Gardens, Bolton, was one of those involved in the brutal attack on Mr Zuchlinski, who was the partner of Bubrowski’s neice, Anna Bubrowska.
Bubrowski claims he worked for Mr Zuchlinski, whom he alleges was a drug dealer. He told the jury that he had been following instructions to collect men and take them to a meeting with Mr Zuchlinski, not realising they were planning to attack his “friend”.
Mr Zuchlinski died at the scene after suffering at least 17 wounds, including having his thumb chopped off.
