A PARTY to celebrate more than three centuries of life has been held at a Bolton nursing home.
Three residents at Shannon Court Nursing Home Ratcliffe Road, namely Gladys Thorton, pictured left, celebrated 100 years on March 12.
Gladys had two sons, three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren Gladys nee Boydell, worked as a buyer for almost 40 years for glass and china business. Rose Foster, centre, turned 100 on March 15. Rose was married to Tom Thornton and had three children, two grandchildren, two great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Edith Ashley, right, was born in Bolton on December 14, 1916 to William and Gertrude, she had one sister Jean. Edith was married to William Ashley.
The trio met with the Mayor of Bolton and her consort, Councillor Lynda Byrne and John Byrne.
