BOLTON is soon to be home to its very own Crystal Maze.
Crack the Maze is being built in a 10,000 meter square space above the new car showroom in Halliwell Road.
It is the brain child of business partners Mo Diveli and Affy Adam.
Mr Diveli, from Halliwell, said: “It is a couple of months away but hopefully we should be there soon.
“We are from Bolton, the jobs will go to people from Bolton and the brand development has been in Bolton.
“It is something we wanted to develop as a local business.”
Mr Adam has a background in the building trade while Mr Diveli has a background in retail, and this is the first time they have tried their hand at creating the gamers experience.
However, they hope the business will prove a big hit in their home town.
Based in the popular Channel 4 show, teams between two and six are tested in physical, mental and skill challenges to win time for an ultimate final challenge.
There will also be escape the room challenges in the huge complex.
It has taken 10 months to develop, working with games developers on the challenges.
Mr Diveli added: “It started out as a little idea and then it became a full-blown idea.
“It took six and seven months just to look for a place and eventually came across this place.
“Jobs include IT people, cleaners, receptionist etc.
“We want to bring entertainment to Bolton.”
Among the jobs being created is the Maze master - the person who leads the teams around the maze.
The Crystal Maze had it’s very own, iconic maze master - Richard O’Brien.
He was famous for his very distinctive style, which included a long fur coat, skinny trousers and sleek leather boots.
The figurehead for the popular show, he lead challengers around the Aztec, Futuristic/Future, Medieval and Industrial zone as they took on skill, physical, mental and mystery challenges to win crystals.
Each converted crystal meant more time in the ‘Crystal Zone’ where teams collected gold and silver tickets to win prizes.
