FIREFIGHTERS were called after an unattended pan caught fire in Crompton Street, Farnworth at around 11.30am yesterday.
Officers could see smoke filling the property through the letterbox.
The blaze was put out using water from the sink and the windows were open to ventilate the property.
A fan found downstairs was also used to clear the smoke.
No one was injured and there was nobody in the property at the time of the fire.
Crew manager Michael Robinson said: “Just don’t leave pans unattended and make sure your smoke alarms are working.”
