Our weekly look back at Wanderers teams from bygone days has unearthed this one of the team celebrating winning the Manx Cup in August, 1988. The caption at the time said: "Gary Brown's lucky boots worked a treat for Wanderers goal star John Thomas again last night. But the Bolton reserve, son of club coach Mick Brown, still refuses to let top scorer Thomas keep the size sevens. Thomas borrowed Brown's boots for the first time last season and scored five goals in three successive games – including a hat-trick against Newport. And last night, when he was uncomfortable in his own new pair, cadged them again." If you have any memories of that game email them to neil.bonnar@nqnw.co.uk
