QUEEN Anne have secured the Division One title in the Bolton At Home Sunday League after their 4-2 victory over Great Lever Taskers.

Their win, coupled with a heavy defeat for nearest rivals Astley Bridge Elite, means they have added the championship to the Charity Shield they won in the season’s curtain-raiser in August.

The victory saw them come from 2-1 down against Great Lever, with Adam Bullock scoring twice, Carl Cover also on target and Craig Lewis converting from the penalty spot.

Taskers’ goalscorers were Danny Lowe and Shane Vine.

Queen Anne can complete a treble before the season ends, as they have a Division One Cup semi-final against De Havilland next month, with the winner to face Farnworth United or Bridge Celtic.

It was D Havilland who inflicted the important defeat on Astley Bridge on Sunday, 7-1 the final score.

Glen Matthews hit a hat-trick and Devon Hill got two, with Bobby Tait and John Harvey also scoring for second-bottom D Havilland. Josh McClaren scored the Elite side’s only goal.

The top flight’s other match saw third-bottom Hulton Wanderers beat Top Club, who are third in the table.

Paul Lomax’s two goals were added to by Chris Farrell and Scott Molineux in a 4-2 victory, Travis Vaughan and Jordan Deane getting on the scoresheet for Top Club.

In Division Two, Newbury guaranteed promotion with a 3-1 win against Bradford Arms B. Brent Halliwell, Craig Sloane and Ash Haslan scored for them in a victory that means they have secured second place, behind Manny Road.
