WANDERERS will open all four sides of the Macron Stadium to their own fans for this weekend’s game against Chesterfield.

After seeking police advice, the club have confirmed away supporters will be moved to the upper tier, allowing extra allocation for the Bolton faithful.

It is the first time the Whites have taken this decision for a league game in 10 years.

Due to huge demand for the £5 reduced ticket prices, some supporters were unable to book two or more seats together – leading to Wanderers investigating the possibility of allowing their own fans behind both goals.

Ken Anderson explained the decision had been made to ensure as many people as possible could get behind the team this Saturday.

"Ultimately we wanted to make sure we could accommodate as many supporters as possible because we feel this is the start of a really important week for the club," he said.

"I know the players have been really upbeat at the training ground at the thought of playing in front of a packed out home crowd.

"We have to do every little thing we can do help get this over the line."

Speaking at his press conference for the Chesterfield game, Phil Parkinson said the big-game atmosphere had brought the best out of his players in training this week.

"You could sense right away that there was a buzz about them," he told The Bolton News. "Sometimes when you train on a Tuesday it can take some players a bit of time to warm-up but we got to the stage where we had to put the brakes on a bit.

"I'm looking forward to the game, so are the lads, it's the first of seven cup finals for us."
