CROONER Michael Bolton’s connection with the town may only be his name — but that did not stop comedian Bradley Walsh quizzing him on the place.

The American singer songwriter took part in a mini-round of The Chase when he appeared on Monday’s The Nightly Show.

The bemused guest found himself being quizzed on the town of Bolton — everything from Bolton Wanderers Football Club’s nickame, to the history of Reebok trainers as he went up against the Bolton brainac.

Walsh, the new presenter of the ITV show, brought in his co-host of The Chase, Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan.

The two went head-to-head in a mini round of the gameshow.

Walsh said: “When I introduce her I call her the Bolton brainac, she is actually from Bolton. Your Michael Bolton, she’s from Bolton. See what we are doing there.”

Michael was asked if he knew anything about the town of Bolton and after a long pause said “it is near Manchester”.

And he struggled to guess the nickname for Bolton Wanderers FC, while Jenny was asked what Michael real surname.

With the help of guest Vinnie Jones, the award-winning singer won. And his prize was sitting down for dinner with a fan from audience, as the show came to an end.
