GARY Neville was the guest speaker at Bury Grammar School Boys fundraising sportsman's dinner.
The school is raising money for new sport facilities, including upgrading the sports hall and providing a new pavilion at the Buckley Wells playing fields.
The sportsman's dinner raised a huge £27,500 towards their goal.
Paul Wilde, honorary treasurer of the school's Old Boys AFC, said: "It was a fantastic evening.
"Gary Neville was superb and told some fascinating stories about his experiences in the world of football.
"We raised a great deal of money for a very worthwhile cause for the School."
More than £700,000 has already been raised to build new 3G and multi use games area pitches at the Tenterden Street school.
