A MAN was rushed to hospital with a serious head injury after a double crash.

The man in his 20s is in a critical condition after his car smashed head-first into a minibus and then hit another car.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses after the incident in Darwen Road in Bromley Cross.

Shortly after 9pm last night (Friday April 7, 2017) a black Ford Fiesta was driving towards Bolton when it collided with a black minibus heading in the opposite direction.

This happened at the junction of Hough Lane and as a result of the first collision, the Fiesta then collided with a silver Renault Clio.

The driver of the Fiesta is the man who suffered the head injury.

Two women in the Clio suffered minor injuries.

Police serious collision investigators have been examining the scene and talking to any witnesses to try and establish exactly what happened.

PC Anthony Pye said: “Sadly one young man is seriously ill as a result of this incident and we need to be sure of the circumstances.

“We want to speak to anyone who may have seen the collision but didn’t stop to speak to police.

“It might be that you also have dash-cam footage which could really help this investigation.

“We also want to know how these vehicles were being driven, so if you saw anything shortly before the collision then please also get in touch.”
