PRIME Bury business real estate is up for grabs after the company owning it folded.

Gas service company 1Gas closed at the end of last month after what director Richard Hearne described as a “blip” in sales escalated.

Mr Hearne said: “I put my heart and soul into it for seven years but the sales just seemed to be lower since October.

“It seemed like a blip and before you knew it we were out of cash.”

The company specialised in gas service connections and meters throughout the country and occupied offices on the second and third floor of the Castle Buildings, Market

Place.

They are now up for auction by Pugh & Co at a guide price of £125,000 — £25,000 lower than the price paid for them by Mr Hearne in April 2015.

Situated above Wetherspoons and adjacent to Bury Parish Church, the offices are a mixture of open plan space and different sized rooms.

The offices cover a total of 656 sq metres of floorspace and have recently been redecorated and carpeted.

The auction will take place in Manchester, at the AJ Bell Stadium, on Tuesday and fixtures and fittings are available to purchase by separate negotiation.

The company was placed into liquidation on March 31 resulting in nine job losses, including that of Mr

Hearne.

Manu Mistry and Hemal Mistry of Horsfields, Insolvency Practitioners have been appointed the liquidators.
