THIS photograph shows a group of elderly people enjoying the sunshine in Moss Bank Park.
The picture was taken in either the 1970s or 1980s and from what we know there is something not quite right with this scene.
If you look closely you will see that the two “elderly women” who were walking towards the camera were not, in fact women at all and were a couple of students from a local school.
It was all part of a project the girls were taking part in and they picked Moss Bank Park as the location for the fun and games — apparently they did manage to fool quite a few people.
What we thought was interesting was not the fact that the girls were taking part in a stunt but the fact there were so many people sitting on the benches enjoying the park.
Decades ago Moss Bank Park was a very popular destination for people who would visit to enjoy its many attractions.
At that time the park had a mini zoo and the play area was always packed with little ones enjoying the facilities it had to offer.
