THE Prime Minister is using The Bolton News to keep a close eye on the town at this election.

After choosing the Tory target seat of Bolton North East to launch her campaign, Theresa May was delivered a copy of The Bolton News that featured her on the front page.

Bolton West Conservative candidate Chris Green, who gave Mrs May the paper, said: “I was delighted to deliver the Prime Minister her own copy of the Bolton News, following coverage of her visit to Bolton.

“By launching the General Election campaign here, the Prime Minister has shown how seriously she takes Bolton voters.

“Bolton is traditionally a bellwether town and whoever wins here usually decides who the Prime Minister is going to be and, when the EU is demanding 100bn Euros, who is best placed to negotiate Brexit — Theresa May or Jeremy Corbyn.”

Mrs May launched the Tory campaign at a parish hall in Egerton last month, just hours after MPs gave the go-ahead to hold the election on June 8.
