A MAN was spared prison after filming himself sexually assaulting a woman while she was asleep.
Stewart Hutchinson, aged 41, was sentenced at Minshull Street Crown Court, Manchester, after previously being found guilty at a trial of one count of sexual assault.
The offence took place between October 2010 and July 2011 but did not come to light until 2014.
The court heard how the woman in the video was in a deep sleep when Hutchinson assaulted her.
A victim's impact statement stated that before the incident she was bubbly and outgoing but now struggles to go out and have a life.
Felicia Davey, representing Hutchinson, said that since he was arrested he has started to control an amphetamine problem.
She added that he has been sacked from two different jobs since his first arrest but is keen to work.
Hutchinson, of Higher Market Street, Farnworth, was given a 12 month prison sentence suspended for 24 months and a restraining order for five years preventing him from contacting the victim.
