BOLTON Olympic Wrestling Club scooped 10 gold and silver medals at the English Junior Wrestling Championships in London.

Harry Meadows, Charlie Meadows, Cameron Leader, Lucy McGrath, Stefan Gradwell and Nathan Livesey all won gold while Liam Husband, Harvey May, Hamza Hussain and Abdullah Hussain took silver at the Thames Valley Athletic Centre.

BOWC coach Jesse Bradbury paid tribute to the fact that every member of the club who took part in the national championships against the best wrestlers in the country brought home a medal.

She said: “I cannot remember ever taking a team of wrestlers to a national championship where each athlete made it all the way to the final in their weight category.

"It is such an amazing achievement for the club and we're incredibly proud of all of our wrestlers.”

Bolton enjoyed a successful fortnight with a host of medals won at the Under-12s Derbyshire Open Championships the previous week.

Grace Costello, Harry Meadows, Arin Sekireden, Charlie Meadows, Tommy Costello, Alfie Gallagher, Cameron Leader and Jack Costello were all crowned champions, while Harry Lancelott, Mia Kipling, Ruby Leader and Liam Husband won silver, Levi Preston took bronze and Megan Kipling was fourth.
