A FATHER and daughter double act are celebrating after their latest show made it to the big time.

Kitchen sink drama ‘Nowhere’, produced by debt-collector Steve Hutchinson and performed by his daughter Danielle, was praised after two performances at the Hope Mill Theatre in Manchester.

The drama, set in the 90s, focusses on two main characters, Carla and her brother, Paul, whose life spirals out of control when their mother dies of cancer and they lose direction in their life.

Focussing on real-life characters and situations from Steve’s own life, the show was applauded for reaching out to the audience on how hard drugs and tough situations can change a person.

Danielle, 26, who lives in Kilburn Road, Radcliffe, with her dad, said she was delighted with the success of the play.

She added: “My dad used to come home and tell me and my mum about all of the stories about the people that he meets during his job and we always said to him he should write a book about it someday.

“He always said that he would write a play but we didn’t think he actually would. When he started to write the story, it was so gripping because it was based on real life scenarios.

“I soon gave him a shove to get the script complete and started to put a cast together.

“I’m glad he did because it was a great success.”

Steve, aged 42, said: “The play’s message is both shocking and heart-warming so I was glad it went so well.

“It was a complete sell-out!”
