A TREE has come down in Blackburn Road.
Council chiefs are on the scene after the tree fell on to the road this morning.
No one was hurt and passers-by helped direct traffic.
Amanda Gregson said: “Thankfully nobody has been hurt.
“Myself and my work colleges were on our way to work but couldn't get through, we helped to direct traffic until help arrived.
“ We work at Dunscar Brewery.
“My friends Nicola Bogle and Aime Rushton and I couldn't get through as we work just past it.”
A Bolton Council spokesman said: "The road reopened at about 10.45am. It was shut for around an hour and a quarter prior to this.
“We have had the tree removed. We’re looking into why it’s fallen.
“It’s possible that it’s an old tree that has dried out in the warm weather, and it’s been brought down by brittle branches falling.”
