OLYMPIC hero Jason Kenny will open Bolton’s newest Aldi supermarket next week.
The six-time cycling gold medallist will cut the ribbon at the store — which has created 20 new jobs at the Logistics North development in Over Hulton — on Thursday.
To celebrate the store opening, the first 30 people in the queue will receive a free shopping bag full of fresh fruit and veg. Customers will also be given complementary bacon and sausage sandwiches.
The Bridgewater Avenue store is directly opposite Aldi’s state-of-the-art regional distribution centre, which opened at the employment hub in 2016.
Jason said: “I am really looking forward to opening the store – as an athlete, I know how important it is to have access to fresh, high quality, healthy produce, and the range on offer at Aldi will allow local customers just that.”
Store manager Steven Fox added: “Our new store on Logistics North makes Aldi more accessible to a wider catchment area in Bolton, meaning more households will benefit from Aldi’s affordable prices, without compromising on quality.”
