Teenage girl sentenced for police assault

A TEENAGER who damaged a police vehicle and assaulted three police officers has been sentenced to a conditional discharge for 18 months.
Jennifer El-Haj, aged 18, of Higher Market Street, Farnworth, pleaded guilty to committing the offences on May 21.
She was ordered to pay her victims a total of £150 in compensation.

Thief fined by magistrates

A SHOPLIFTER has appeared in court.

Brant Chadwick stole meat, cheese and coffee worth £60 from the Tesco Express store in Manchester Road, Bolton, on May 20.

He was fined £50 when he appeared at Bolton Magistrates’ court.

The 29-year-old, of Knutshaw Crescent, Hunger Hill, was also ordered to participate in 10 days of rehabilitation activities and was told to pay a total of £170 in costs and charges.

Drug possession

MAGISTRATES have fined Liam Greenhalgh, aged 19, of Westland Avenue, Farnworth, £80 after he admitted possessing cannabis, with £115 charges.

Driver banned from the roads

MAGISTRATES have banned a motorist from the roads for a total of 12 months.

Daniel Cumisky, aged 26, of Lever Edge Lane, Bolton, admitted driving a Peugeot 306 on Fletcher Street, Bolton, on March 25 after having taken cannabis.

He also pleaded guilty to having no insurance or driving licence.

In addition to the driving ban, Cumisky was fined £240 and ordered to pay £115 in costs and charges.

Drink-driver given ban

A DRINK-driver has been fined £120 and banned from the roads for 44 months.

At Bolton Magistrates’ Court Stephen Hibbert, aged 29, of Hibernia Street, Bolton, pleaded guilty to driving a Peugeot 206 in Bayswater Street, Bolton, on May 19 after drinking excess alcohol and having no insurance.

He was also ordered to pay £115 in costs and charges.

Driver fined £100 by court

A MOTORIST who headed across a major road a collided with a motorcycle has been fined £100 at Bolton Magistrates’ Court. Ryma Bibi, aged 20, of Charlesworth Avenue, Bolton, pleaded guilty to driving a Toyota Yaris without care and attention. She was also ordered to pay £115 in costs and charges.

Man fined for begging

MAGISTRATES have fined a man £60 after he was caught begging in Victoria Square, Bolton, on April 11.

The case against Daniel Llewellyn, aged 28, of Bromwich Street, Bolton, was proved in his absence at Bolton Magistrates’ Court.He also has to pay £140 in costs and charges.

Drink drive offender spared jail

A DRIVER who had drunk more than double the legal alcohol limit has been given a suspended prison sentence.

At Bolton Magistrates’ Court Time Chabata, aged 44, of Winchester Way, Breightmet, pleaded guilty to committing the offence whilst driving a Ford Focus in Bury Road on May 30.

He also admitted having no driving licence.

The court heard that it was Chabata’s third drink diving offence and occurred shortly after the end of a previous driving ban.

He was sentenced to nine weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months, ordered to have alcohol treatment for 12 months and he must participate in 10 days of rehabilitation activities.

In addition, Chabata was banned from holding a driving licence for 46 months after which he must take an extended test. He was also ordered to pay a total of £200 in costs and charges.

Suspended jail term for assault man

MAGISTRATES have sentenced a man to 12 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months, after he admitted assaulting a man on May 31.

The court heard that Christopher Marr, aged 30, of Stone Street, Tonge Moor, had been drinking and was in possession of a knife.

He was ordered to participate in 20 days of rehabilitation activities, pay £100 compensation and £200 in prosecution costs and a surcharge.

Drug treatment court order

A MAN who assaulted three police officers and used threatening behaviour on January 29 has been ordered to have treatment for drug addiction for nine months.

At Bolton Magistrates’ Court Michael Gillard, aged 37, of Gordon Avenue, Deane, pleaded guilty to committing the offences. He was fined £30, must participate in 10 days of rehabilitation.

Door damage man in court

MAGISTRATES have sentenced a man to spend 30 hours at an attendance centre after he admitted damaging a door and assaulting a woman on March 4.

Bolton magistrates also ordered Kieran Harrison, aged 23, of Burnmoor Road, Breightmet, to pay £100 compensation and £255 in costs and charges.

Driver jailed for 26 weeks

A WOMAN has been jailed for 26 weeks after she was caught driving after being banned from the roads.

Manchester magistrates heard how Corrine Irwin, aged 35, of Gregory Avenue, Bolton, was caught driving a Ford Escort on Bury and Bolton Road, Bury on May 31

She pleaded guilty to committing the offence and having no insurance.

At the time Irwin was subject to a suspended prison sentence for drink driving in Rawtenstall in November last years and other offences.

She was banned from holding a driving licence for 53 months.

Magistrates order bind over

MAGISTRATES have ordered a man to be bound over to keep the peace for 12 months or forfeit £100.

Lewis O’Reilly, aged 21, of Spa Crescent, Little Hulton, admitted behaviour likely to cause a breach of the peace in Bolton on May 31.

Assault man to do unpaid work

MAGISTRATES have sentenced Scott Dumbill to carry out 100 hours unpaid work after he pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman on November 6 last year.

Dumbill, aged 36, of Hazel Avenue, Swinton, was also ordered to pay £200 compensation plus £635 towards prosecution costs and a victim surcharge.

Shoplifter sentenced

A SHOPLIFTER who stole baby clothes and other items from Bolton stores has been sentenced to have treatment for drug addiction.

At Bolton Magistrates’ Court Leon Gayle, aged 36, of Salcombe Grove, Bolton, pleaded guilty to thefts at four shops totalling £223 in value.

He was also ordered to pay £70 compensation and £85 towards prosecution costs.

Crash driver on tagged curfew

A DRIVER who accidentally crashed a BMW into fencing has been electronically tagged after appearing before magistrates for a string of motoring offences.

Bolton magistrates heard how 21-year-old Tyrone Morton, of Moss Lane, Kearsley, was driving the vehicle when it was involved in the accident on Frederick Street, Farnworth on March 26.

Morton failed to stop or report the accident to police and was driving without insurance.

He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to a 7pm to 5am curfew for seven weeks, was banned from holding a licence for six months and must spend 24 hours at an attendance centre.

Benefit cheat to do work

A BENEFIT cheat has been sentenced to do 100 hours unpaid work after she admitted making false claims for housing benefit and jobseekers allowance.

Bolton magistrates heard how Laura Isherwood, aged 31, of Blackledge Street, Bolton, did not reveal she was living with partner Mark Isherwood in July 2015. She must also pay £170 in costs.

Drunk sentence

MAGISTRATES have sentenced Brian Brough, aged 30, of Wentbridge Road, Bolton, to a conditional discharge for 18 months after he pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly.
