Cheese thief given order

A MAN was given a community order after stealing meats, cheese and coffee from a shop.

Brant Chadwick, of Hunger Hill in Bolton, was given the order at Bolton Magistrates Court.

Chadwick, aged 29, committed the offences at the Tesco Express on Manchester Road.

He was fined £50 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £85.

Driver fined after crashing her car into motorbike

A WOMAN was given six points on her driving licence and fined £100 after crashing her car into a motorbike.

Ryma Bibi, aged 20, pleaded guilty to driving a car without due care and attention on Blackburn Road on December 19 last year.

She was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £30 and costs of £85 at Bolton Magistrates Court.

Bibi, of Charlesworth Avenue, Bolton crossed Blackburn road and damaged both her car and the motorbike in the crash.

Man in court for cannabis

A MAN was fined after being caught with a quantity of cannabis.

Liam Greenhalgh, aged 19, admitted possession of a class B drug at Bolton Magistrates Court.

He was fined £80 for possessing the drugs in Bolton on May 22 this year.

He was also ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge and costs of £85.

Driving ban for motorist

A MAN has been banned from driving for 44 months after being caught drink driving.

Stephen Hibbert, aged 29 and of Hibernia Street in Bolton, was sentenced at Bolton Magistrates Court after admitting the offence as well as driving without insurance.

He was stopped on May 19 this year on Bayswater Street, Bolton, and when breathalysed found to be above the legal limit for alcohol.

He was fined £240 in addition to the ban.

Rail fare dodger fined £440 by court

MAGISTRATES have fined a rail passenger £440 after he was caught travelling without a valid ticket.

The case against Ahmad Adam, aged 19, of Hughes Street, Bolton, was proved in his absence at Bolton Magistrates’ Court.

Adam had travelled to Bolton from Urmston on December 15 but only purchased a ticket for a journey to the town from Manchester Oxford Road, avoiding the extra £1.10 cost.

In addition to the fine Adam was ordered to pay £1.10 compensation

plus £150 costs and a £44 victim surcharge.

Jail sentence for beer thief

MAGISTRATES have sentences a man to two weeks in prison after he admitted stealing beer worth £10 from a shop.

At Bolton Magistrates’ Court Andrew Gorman, aged 32, of Langthorne Walk, Deane, pleaded guilty to committing the offence at the McColls’ store on February 16.

The court heard that Gorman was already on licence for another offence at the time and has a history of ignoring court orders.

In addition to the jail sentence, magistrates ordered Gorman to pay the shop £10 in compensation.

Tag order for court man

MAGISTRATES have ordered a man to be electronically tagged after he pleaded guilty to interfering with a Mercedes Sprinter van in Bolton on June 3.

Darren Anderson, aged 40, of Victory Street, Bolton, will be subject to a 12 week 7pm to 7am curfew and was ordered to pay a total of £170 in costs and charges.

Assault sentence

MAGISTRATES have sentenced a man to a conditional discharge for 12 months after he admitted assaulting a woman and damaging a door on May 13.

Jordan Paterson, aged 27, of Cleveleys Avenue, Bolton, was also ordered to pay £250 in compensation plus £105 in costs and charges.

Disqualified driver caught

AN UNLICENSED driver who was caught behind the wheel of a car after taking drugs had been disqualified from holding a licence for 12 months.

At Bolton Magistrates’ Court Sajid Patel, aged 26, of Belmont Road, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the offences and having no insurance when he drove a VW Golf on Moss Bank Way, Bolton on April 9.

He was fined £240 and ordered to pay £115 in costs and charges.

Woman’s texts abuser fined

MAGISTRATES have fined a man £150 after he admitted harassing a woman by constantly contacting her though Facebook and sending her abusive texts.

Malcolm Slater, aged 36, of Moorgate Court, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the offence between May 18 and 22 and was ordered to pay £115 in costs and charges.

A restraining order was also made banning him from contacting his victim.

Drink-driver must do work

A VAN driver has been sentenced to carry out 120 hours unpaid work.

Mark Stringer, aged 53, of Yewdale Gardens, Breightmet, pleaded guilty to drink-driving in a Vauxhall Astra van in Deepdale Road, Breightmet on March 27.

He was also banned from holding a driving licence for two years and ordered to pay £170 in costs and charges.

Uninsured driver tagged

MAGISTRATES have ordered a man to be electronically tagged after he pleaded guilty to driving whilst banned and having no insurance.

Gabor Balog, aged 51, of Union Road, Bolton, committed the offences by driving a Renault Kangoo in Tonge Moor Road on April 9.

Bolton magistrates sentenced him to an 11pm to 8am curfew for eight weeks, banning him from holding a licence for six months and ordered him to pay £170 in costs and charges.

Drink-driver banned

A DRINK-driver has been banned from the roads for 12 months.

At Bolton Magistrates Court, Nancy McNeil, aged 42, of Lea Gate, Harwood, admitted driving a Ford Ka on May 5 after consuming more than the legal level of alcohol.

In addition to the driving ban McNeil was fined £120 and ordered to pay £115 in costs and charges.

Cannabis grower

A SUSPENDED prison sentence has been given to a man who was caught producing 15 cannabis plants.

At Bolton Magistrates Court, Philip Kendall, aged 28, of St James Street, Farnworth, admitted committing the offence and possessing cannabis on May 22.

He was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months and must carry out unpaid work for 180 hours.

In addition he was ordered to pay £200 in costs and charges.
