A TEENAGER is leaping his way into the spotlight as he competes in the finals of a national talent competition.

Aged just 13, Jaiden Sayer will be dancing for success next month after making it to the Grand Final of Teen Star — the UK’s biggest search for teenage singing and dance acts.

The Westhoughton schoolboy will be performing in front of his family, including mum and dad Linzi and Jay, and a panel of industry judges on July 29.

Mrs Sayer said: “I am very proud of him.

“He needed a confidence boost, as he can be quite nervous before performing, so that’s why we entered. We had no idea it would get this far.

“The reaction and support has been unbelievable, it’s a fantastic experience. He’s so excited for the final!”

Jaiden, a Westhoughton High School pupil, started dancing two and half years ago at Twizzles in Horwich. He has gone on to train at Aspire Dance and Stage and the Lowry Centre for Advanced Training Scheme.

Along with dance teacher Charlotte Francis, he has choreographed his own modern dance routines for the competition, making it through auditions and two regional finals. The grand final takes place on July 29at The Alban Arena in Hertfordshire.

Highlights will be broadcast on SKY’s Showcase TV and winners prizes include a sponsorship deal with a major dancer supplier.
