A YOUNG singer famed for his X Factor performances has been caught on camera in a fight outside a Bolton takeaway.
On the week his debut single is released, Christian Burrows was involved in a brawl in Bradshawgate in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The fight was filmed by an onlooker and posted online.
Mr Burrows, aged 20 from Tonge Moor, claims he was assaulted by people who were taunting him in the takeaway and retaliated.
He claims the men made derogatory remarks, including one alluding to the death of his two-month-old brother. His song Two Again, released yesterday, is written in memory of his brother who died of cot death.
He said: “After attempting to de-escalate the situation we decided to leave when their banter quickly turned aggressive with intended derogatory remarks. “Carry on I’ll put you in the ground with your brother”.
“At which point everyone got very heated, and I felt threatened. Next thing I remember I was assaulted causing a retaliation in defence.”
The Bolton News has been unable to verify the account of the fight. Others involved could not be contacted.
But police are investigating and have appealed for witnesses.
The fight was caught on two separate videos, the first starting with a group of men, including Mr Burrows, shouting at each other in the doorway of the Food Factory takeaway.
The X Factor 2016 contestant can be seen in the fracas as punches are thrown.
Shouting continues through the doorway while a woman’s voice can be heard shouting “Christian” and telling them “It’s finished”.
The next clip picks up the action some moments later and shows two men walking away from the takeaway. The situation appears to have calmed down, but then the video shows further trouble at the takeaway.
A man runs into the brawl, causing one of the men to dash back into the chippy. The video then stops.
In a tweet sent by Mr Burrows just after 11.30pm on the Friday, he thanks The Bar Bolton for “always looking after” him as he and the “lads” celebrate his debut single.
Big up to @Thebarbolton for always looking after me👌🏻 No better place to celebrate my debut single release with the lad's 🎉

It was the same song the former Bolton barman performed when he auditioned for judges on the ITV talent show back in August last year.
Mr Burrows, who has more than 42,000 followers on Twitter, is a former Thornleigh Salesian College student.
He went on to hit national headlines for the tear-jerking moment but failed to make the live shows when mentor Nicole Scherzinger failed to pick him for her final line-up.

Since then, he has been on tour with Ben Haenow, recording in London and promoting the single with interviews on radio stations including BBC Radio Manchester and Peak FM in North Derbyshire.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “We were called at around 4.45am on Saturday, June 17. Police were called to reports of a disturbance in Bradshawgate outside a takeaway.
“Officers attended but the group had already dispersed.
“Anyone with information should call police on 101 and quote incident 527 of July 17 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
The videos highlight concerns about the safety of revellers in the town centre. and the impact on the town’s night time economy.
